Outward Appearance

Outward appearance is very important in improving your life.  This may sound harsh but people will treat and judge you on how you present yourself.  For example, someone who is dressed in torn baggy jeans, a over sized white t-shirt will be though of much differently than someone in a full suit.

You must present yourself on how you want the world to view you.  You are your own advertisement.  It may sound shallow but the more "attractive" you make yourself the more you will associate with "attractive people" thus increasing your social value.

The main ways change your outward appearance are the way you dress and the physical state of your body. Depending on your body type certain clothes can be worn to increase your appearance.

So what should you aim for?  If you want to attract most of the general population (90%) you should follow these general guidelines:

Why 90% of the population?  There are always outliers.  There will always be people that dress like punk rockers with pink hair, three nose piercings, and tattoos a plenty. There were always be that girl that likes the 250lb bodybuilder.

Clothing: Fit is most important.  A $5 Tshirt can look like a $50 shirt if it fits you well.  Baggy makes you look unkept and highschoolish. Clothes that fit to tight, depending on your body type will make you look either funny or a try hard.

Bodytype:  Ranked as followed.  Muscular > average > skinny or overly muscular > overweight.

A muscular physique is ideal because it shows that you know how to take care of your body + you look great in clothes.

Average physiques don't carry any negative connotations but it certainly doesn't stand out.

Being too skinny can make you appear weak, however you will be able to wear clothes some can't.

Being too muscular can be disadvantageous because it brings along some negative connotations (self absorbed, gym rat, steroids, etc).  I'm not saying that is true at all but that is how people will initially look at you.

Overweight is last on the tier because it shows you cannot take care of yourself well.  Clothes also are hard to find and fit is always bad.

You can find your general body type classification based on these numbers for a 5'10'' male with an average frame.

Muscular - 160lbs-190lbs 10-15% bodyfat
Average - 135-180lbs  15-20% bodyfat
Skinny - <135lbs  8-15% bodyfat
Heavily Muscular - >190lbs 10-15% bodyfat
Overweight - >180lbs 20+% bodyfat

This is just a general classification.  Everyone is built and carries their weight differently.  In the future I hope to have a forum where people can post pictures and the community can critique and help them out.

Goal

The main goal of this blog is to help people improve their life by simple means.

This blog will be short and sweet and help you improve how others view you, and how you view yourself.
